About

The cluster has three main objectives:

1.  To establish, develop and promote the field of dress studies as a cross-disciplinary endeavour by
– interrogating dress in a broad range of contexts
– sharing insights and interpretations to build a collective understanding of the field
– engaging in scholarly dialogue with others inside and outside the academy

2.  To develop a sustainable community of practice by
– supporting the research and career development of members, particularly early career and doctoral researchers
– attracting doctoral students
– building capability and capacity to identify, pursue and secure external funding

3.  To raise the profile of the group as a whole and enhance the international reputation of all its members by
– supporting internationally recognised, leading-edge research, which consistently produces 3* and 4* outputs
– participating in and hosting international conferences and events
– facilitating the development of collaborative and influential partnerships
